Tyson helped co-found SeQuential in 2003. Under his leadership, SeQuential has grown into one of the largest and longest-running biodiesel production facilities on the West Coast. Today, SeQuential employs more than 200 people, boasts a network of more than 85 biodiesel retailers across Oregon, and is vertically integrated with a division that collects the used cooking oil needed to produce its fuel.
Tyson is driven to make a positive impact on reducing carbon emissions, to stimulate local economies, and to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. In addition to his work with SeQuential, he currently chairs the California Advanced Biofuels Alliance. Tyson holds a Bachelor of Science in Planning, Policy and Management from the University of Oregon.
Tyson’s passion for building a better energy model is a result of his goal to improve the lives of his family, friends, and neighbors on the earth. When he is not working, Tyson surrounds himself with his family and a good book, and makes as much time as he can for sailing.
