Looking at Sustainability in LA Today
Since the formation of both the Sustainable City pLAn and LA’s Green New Deal, Los Angeles is thriving and even surpassing goals for sustainability. The city has reached its goals of cutting water usage, reducing carbon emissions, and more. As of 2021, LA also has the most electric vehicles and charging stations than any other location in the United States, getting closer to its goal of reaching zero-emissions transportation.
Although LA has made incredible progress, there is still much work to be done. The city aims to be 100% carbon-free by 2035, staying on track to being carbon neutral by 2050.
