FAQs

Get answers to some of our most commonly asked questions about cooking oil recycling.

Q: How do I sign up?

A: Please email us or call 800-447-3794 to set up a consultation with an account representative.

Q: How does cooking oil recycling work?

A: After an account representative meets with you to assess your needs, we will provide you with a clean, durable storage container to store used cooking oil, and arrange a collection schedule for you. After each collection, we will record the amount of useable oil, which is usually about 80% of the total volume collected. Any rebates will be issued based on that amount.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: There is no cost for cooking oil recycling. In fact, you may be eligible to receive regular rebates on the oil we collect from you, depending on its quality, quantity, and location. Grease-trap cleaning is a charged service, and price varies depending on the service. Please contact us directly for pricing information.

Q: What do you do with the oil you collect?

A: Every drop of oil we collect is turned into low carbon biodiesel at our plant in Salem, OR. That biodiesel is then distributed throughout the region to provide sustainable fuel for vehicles, machinery, farms, boilers and more.

Q: When will I be paid for my oil?

A: Our rebate payment schedule is based on the amount of oil collected. If you recycle enough oil to earn more than $20 each month, you will be paid each month. If not, you will be paid at the end of each quarter (4 times a year).

Q: My container is full and I need to change my fryers. What can I do?

A: Call or email customer service for a pickup and store additional oil in buckets or cubes that the oil originally comes in, next to our container. Make sure to notify customer service of the additional oil so we can notify the driver.

Q: Can I get my oil picked up more frequently?

A: We have the ability to adjust frequency, on an as-needed basis. There are only so many stops our drivers can make per day, so it is imperative that we route these stops as efficiently as possible. Based on your location’s historical production of oil and the size of your used cooking oil container, we can calculate the appropriate frequency. We understand that used cooking oil output can change based on seasonal needs or changes in the menu, so feel free to communicate this to our service team and we can have your frequency recalculated.

Q: My container is damaged, how much does it cost to replace?

A: Replacement of the used cooking oil container is free.  Upon request (or driver recommendation), we can exchange your damaged or old container.  Delivery times depend on availability of that container size and service trucks equipped to deliver these containers in your area.
